Why do narcissists and especially covert narcissists always play the victim?

More often than not people sympathize for others. They feel for others and wish they could do something to help alleviate their suffering. Some people have learned that they can use this instinct to their advantage. Being a victim means theres potential someone will sympathize for you. Be there to coddle you and support you, while at the same time leaving themselves vulnerable to you. In the eyes of the covert it is a win win.
I was born with only one nipple and when I was young people used to pick on me. They called me “Unip.” It was so embarrassing, and now I have major self esteem issues. Can you do me a favor and rub my nipple for me? It makes all the embarrassment go away and helps me with my self esteem.😈
